Question SOLVED: Looking for Title and group

I cannot identify the song or group for what I remember of the lyrics.

    Part of the chorus is:

"One of these days, you're going to break your back - carrying the weight og the world."

This song never plays on any radio station anymore. I am in Nova Scotia, and I think it may be a group local to this area. It is from around 1994.

If anybody knows this one, please let me know.

    Thank you.

I did not find a good match for your lyrics.
    Try the following song:

"Weight Of The World" by Elton John
And the weight of the world is off my back
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

I replied too soon... try the following songs:

"Weight Of The World" by Overkill
You feel the weight of the world,
And your back's are not that strong!
Can you carry a tune or is the weighting forever so long?!

"Weight Of The World" by Ringo Starr
You carry the weight, the weight of the world,
It's breakin' you down on your back like a boulder.
Before it's too late, get rid of it, girl,
Get it off of your shoulder.
    I know you've been used,
But you gotta lose the weight of the world.
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

    Hello,

Thank you for the suggestions. I have found these on lyrics searches, but they are not the song that I'm looking for.

    Hi McKenna,

Don't get excited, I don't know it either. I think we're looking for the same song.
I'm in Edmonton, Alberta and heard it on the radio here just a couple times.

A verse starts with "One of these days you're gonna break your back / carrying the weight of the world",
and the fragment of the refrain that I remember isn't much help either:
"Hey now (hey now) don't carry the weight of the world" is repeated at least twice.

In my memory, the vocalist sounds like Mark Holmes from Platinum Blonde, but who
    knows how accurate that is.

I found Weight of the World by The Samples on YouTube and got excited, because
the instruments sounded right at the beginning. Turned out to be a great song,
but that isn't it and neither are the other ten versions I've checked out so far.

You keep looking and so will I, and we'll bump this post every couple years, ok?

    Eureka!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the Holy Grail. This was the last song I was looking for. About ten years ago, I started to try to get a copy of every song that I wanted. CD, vinyl, cassette, download: I didn't care. I made up my list and knocked them off one by one - except for this one. No amount of searching or asking ever got me to this answer. Except you two - and I had almost given up. I have a really good memory, but sometimes I would wonder if I went crazy and this song didn't even exist. Jeez this is a great song too. It's exactly what I put in my post - an obscure Canadian band with no airplay after the few months after the song's release - although I was off on the year. Incredible. I'm not crazy after all. Blue Nile Fan and Jason - I owe you both big time. Thank you. I'm going to play that quite a few times tonight. I am now a happy man.

Anyone else who reads this post - watch and listen to this video. it's too good to pass up. Good night all.

Like the line at the end of "A Christmas Story": All is well with the world.

    Thanks folks.
