jazz based song...strange lyrics

I heard a song today that caught my attention...the artist sang about the world floating along in a big silver bowl
balanced on the back of a tortuga
whose feet were standing on top of a bull with red blood eyes
who was balanced ontop of something...i'm not sure what, but he said nobody ever has seen "it"...some say it's a fish, some think it's a newt...

anyway I apologize for such a fragmented representation...if anybody can spot this song and artist you're a SONG GOD.
