Need Info on this song

Theres this song a friend gave to me on a mixed CD there wasn't an artist name or song name for it I really like the song and I am trying to find out who wrote it and sings it. I have been looking but haven't been able to find it on my own I have searched for songs tittled "little star" or "my little Star" but I only get like Madonna and one from the Romeo and Juliet movie but they do not match. I hope someone can help me thanks!
