Default looking for song title and artist from the 90's

There was a song in the early/mid 90's that was on alternative radio stations all the time, but I can't find it anywhere now. I only remember a few lyrics:

"You broke my bike, I fixed it up then, you broke it again, and again"

"I'm sick of hanging out" (this is repeated often in the song)

the final lyric of the song is:
"I'm standing at the gate, but I can't get it, I'm too late"

    Help?

    Could it be

    Generation six-pack - "The Hammock"
    Here's a short sample Amazon.com: Generation Six-Pack: Music: Pure

    Three, four

You stole my bike so I broke your nose
You said my mom was better looking than your mom
    Well who knows
We stare at the sun a little closer
    Pretty colours are taking over
Go down by the swing and hang out low
    We'll be real low

    Hanging out
    Hanging out
    Hanging out
    Hanging out

Then you crashed that car and I took the blame
We fixed it up and then you crashed it again
    And again
Then we moved apart and got all weird
I went out searching and you stayed back here
The hammock fell over and you've got no place to stay
And nobody's noticed that you've passed away

    Hanging out
    Hanging out
    Hanging out
    Hanging out

    We're hanging out
    I'm sick of hanging out
    Come on now, hang out

    We'll figure it out
When we're standing at the gate
    And I can't get in
    I'm too late
Its nice to be important, but its more important to be nice
    Y Ddraig Goch ddyry gychwyn
