Solved: A capella song

I was driving home from work after a night shift, and heard a song that really struck me.

I don't know the artist, and the only line I can remember is the first one:

"5am, on a new york subway"

It was sung acapella, and I heard it about 10 years ago. I thought it might be fine young cannibals, but it wasn't them.

This is driving me nuts. Can anyone give me some ideas?
