There is a rap artist called 8ball from the group 8ball & MJG. They had an album called "On Top Of The World" in 1995, and "Lyrics Of A Pimp" in 1997. They've both had solo albums, but 8ball's wasn't till '98. This artist is always featured on soundtracks and compilations, so you may have some difficulty finding it. Or I may be waaay off and it isn't 8ball at all...
