What would you consider an oldie?
How about 1975 - Cry For The Bad Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd

YouTube - Cry For The Bad Man

I put my faith down in my friend
And he almost put an end to me
Well I work seven days a week
Eight when I am able
When you take my money from me you take food from my mama's table..

Or perhaps "Pride and Joy" by Marvin Gaye?

You are my pride and joy
And I just love you little darlin
Like a baby boy loves his toy
You got kisses sweeter than honey
And I work seven days a week
To give you all my money
And that's why you are my pride and joy

Even if it's not the right song, this video is well worth watching ...

Question what i mean is...

when I say oldie, i mean like late 80's, early 90's...Its an r&b song...

It sounds like a song made in the 60's or 70's.
It was sung by a man.

And he is talking about how he works, and the time that he spends he can be spending with some woman 'his wife I'm guessing'

"i work seven days a week i need to be right there with you...and i need all the strength i can get."

also, there is another song...

"she used to be the perfect mother, he used to be the perfect father until they stepped out into the sea."

I thought it was called freebasing, and it kind of sounds like a whisperer's song, but i dont know what its called or who its by.
