As far as i can find, the song's called I Hate to Lose You (I'm so Used to You Now) Words by Grant Clarke, Music by Archie Gottler
I can't find anything with Eddie Fisher, but i did come across this Shellac Shanty: Sunday Afternoon Shellac If you scroll down to " I hate to lose you", you can listen to the song, by (bandleader) Sammy Kaye. The vocals i believe are "Don Cornell"
Hope this is of some help to you

That's the song all right, but not the arrangement I remember. It was more upbeat. I really thought it was by Eddie Fisher, but searches of his discography were fruitless as you found. Armed with the w&m authors I can keep digging. I appreciate your efforts once more.
Thank you

OK, after digging around some more, i've found another version which is more upbeat.
"I Hate To Lose You" - Hank Penny
You can listen to a sample HERE (Track 20)

Well, thanks again, but that's not the version I'm looking for. The one I remember(almost) was one of the popular singers of the fifties (my) era. I have
found a rendition by the Andrews Sisters, and it is possible that I have been mistaken thinking it was a solo vocal. It is an old song, but it was given a new twist by the '50's singer I have been trying to remember. Thank you very much for your
efforts. I really appreciate it.

I'm still looking
I have a few more names for you to try, (most with samples) you never know one of them may ring a bell
Here's the link allmusic
Surely there can't be many others who've covered this song, can there? lol

Well, I've resigned myself to the fact that the old memory isn't what it used to be, and the only version that I would have heard back then would be the Andrews Sisters. Don Cornell and Mindy Carson are the only other singers that I recognize of the group, and I know it wasn't those two. I've been thinking the reason I thought it was Eddy Fisher was because of a similarity to "If I ever needed you" by Fisher. I have located the Andrews Sisters version and purchased the CD thus ending my quest.
Once again I thank you for your efforts. If not for you I would be forever searching for a non existant recording. I have you bookmarked for all time because "I'd hate to lose you"

Your're very welcome Galleyleo, I'm really glad i've been able to help you in your search.
I'm just going to add one last artist, (I like to be thorough) , and thats the "Barry sisters" they did a version in 1955 i believe. I've now run out of artists LOL. The main thing is you've been able to find your song. Enjoy!
Take care
