I am looking for an 1980s song and I don't know who covered it, but this is how it goes: (I think, lol)

It was sung by a black man with a type of falsetto voice and I have been trying to look for this song for the longest. I hope somebody can help a sista out!!

Thank you so much for your replies, however, the song that I am talking about is sung by a man and it goes something like this:

"I'll be your friend, though you treat me like a brother, I would rather be your lover baby, I'll be your friend, Oh, to love you, oh to love you would be everything."

Then another part of the song goes like this or this maybe the chorus:

I'ts actually a "she" and that she would be Precious Wilson from a group called Eruption. I'm a black dude myself and I thought it was a black man myself... Awesome song.
