Help me find this song...plz

I remember this early computer/synth song from when I was young. It was mainly synthesized with I THINK some singing. It had something to do with words like "it's too late to say goodbye" or "last chance to say goodbye" or something like that. I was told it was someone who was singing a song to his dad who died and he never had a chance to tell him something.....

Please help me, I might go insane. Really.

My dad is not doing to well physically and he really liked this song. I just want to find it for him, seriously.

was it female/male voice in that song?
"when you was young"...approx in what year(s) could that be?
was it popular at that time? (in top charts maybe?)

yeah sorry. It must have been between around 20-25 years ago. I'm not sure if it was top in the charts, but it was played somewhat regularly on the radio. It was a male voice. I just remember someone saying something about it being totally done on computer and what a "big" thing that was at the time. The singer was basically acting like the song was for his dad, but it was too late. Or last chance or something....I really wish I could give you more. It might not have been quite so long ago the more I think about it. Pre 90s for sure.
