    Default Solved: Does anyone know this Christmas song?

    I only remember 1 word. I will spell it how I remember hearing it (as accurate as I can-I was about 10). Hung-ee-by-choy or Ung-ee-by-choy. I think it was near the end of the song-they started rattling off these "words" (maybe about 8 words). This was the last word and the only one I could remember. The year was circa 1970's but I am not sure if this was the original year/years for the song. It was on an 8-track. I think it was a males voice. Thanks for any help. I listened to all the old 8-tracks my Dad could find. This has been driving me crazy for weeks now!

    I have no idea what the song is, but I'll bet the lyrics you are citing are "gong hee fot choi" (or "kung hei fat choy"), which is the traditional Chinese greeting for lunar New Year. That might help focus your search.

    Whoa! I've never heard something like that. Especially for Christmas. Maybe it is anoother traditional language. Try typing in the search,

    (country you guess here) Christmas songs, and look for what one you think is the same as yours!

    We(me,my dad and sister) all remember it was a Xmas song that was all in English except for the last 8 or so "words" For some reason my mom is the only one who can't remember it. I remember only hearing it at Xmas time along with all the other Xmas 8-tracks. I hope our memory is serving us well.

    Have you listened to: A Christmas Prayer by the Jonas Brothers? It could be the song you are looking for.

    Following Grendl2000's lead, the traditional Christmas song, "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" ends with the lyric, "Happy New Year".

    We wish you a Merry Christmas;
    We wish you a Merry Christmas;
    We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

    The attached links are for sites I found that reference a Chinese version of this song:

    Thanks to John Connell from Little Rock, AR (member of the Ray Conniff group).

    http://www.rayconniff.info/contact/index.html

    The song is "here's to you" by the Living Strings/Living Voices from 1968.

    Thanks also to everyone who helped.

    The album tracklist indicates "Here's To You" performed by Peggy Lee & Richard Hazard.

    Default See above post.

    I can't find a sample clip for Peggy Lee & Richard Hazard. I have already listened to Living Strings & Living Voices. It is their song that I remember. If you can find a clip for Peggy Lee & Richard Hazard, email me.

    Is Living Strings & Living Voices a band of artists or an album name? The reason I ask is the tracklist provided on the included link. PS: I may be having one of my frequent brain interrupt moments.

    It's a band of artists. I found the song by Peggy Lee on Amazon but it was just text. It's probably the same one.

    Check this out.

    http://www.mediafire.com/?9jljnhu2nmc

    I downloaded it, unzipped it and, it's the "real" deal.

    Note: the "owner" of the provided link clearly states on his first page that this album as well as other music he provides, to the best of his knowledge, does not infringe upon any copyright material, etc. He goes on to state he will not provide access to copyright material, therefore, I (logan) believe it's ok to download this particular music. Any other opinions?
