Default SOLVED: Calling all classic rock experts

I'm looking for a song I heard on the radio a long time ago, it was on a classic station that used to play 50s 60s and 70s music, now it just plays rehashed 80s music and still calls itself classic so I haven't heard it for years so I'll give you the words I remember. This is the chorus and it is a do-whop
    fashion:
"What can I do all day? echo ("do all day do") (something) life like a carousel (something) echo ("do all day do do all day do do all day waa ahh")"
I think it's one of those odd songs that do not have any of the lyrics in the title, the lead singer sounds a bit british but I could be wrong it also has the name Peggy Sue and the term sha na na in the song somewhere but i'm not sure where so if anyone out there can help me idetify the song let me know. Hope you like a good challenge. If you can't please point me out to a song expert that just has to see a few lyrics of a classic song and can identify it.
    Thanks
    Jason

I did not find a good match for your lyrics. My wild guesses are as follows:

"On A Carousel" by The Hollies

"Who's That Woman?" from the 1971 musical, "Follies".
Who's that woman? I know her well,
All decked out head to toe.
She lives life like a carousel:
    Beau after beau after beau.
    Nightly, daily,
    Always laughing gaily,
Seems I see her everywhere I go.

Default After many years I found the title to the song

After many years of searching for this song, and looking at preactically every doo *** song there ever was I finally found the title and boy is my face red. It wasn't a doo *** clssic song at all
it was the song "Back in the doo wah days" by Mickey Giolley which came out in 1986 but look at the lyrics that threw me off
Back in the doo-wah days, we had a ball
Nights on the boardwalk, we had it all
    And time to shift away
    Back in the doo-wah days.

    Doo-wah, doo-wah, doo-wah, wahhh.

Back in the doo-wah days when we were young
Life was a cerosel, we feel in love
    And time to shift away
    Back in the doo-wah days.

    Doo-wah, doo-wah, doo-wah, wahhh.

Be bop a lou, peggy sue
Those songs bring back old memoeies
Be bop she wow, sha na, na, na
Those words mean so much to me.
    [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/m/m..._wah_days.html ]
Back in the doo wah days you held me tight
You never let me go, it still feels so right
    It's just as good today
    Back in the doo-wah days

    Doo-wah, doo-wah, doo-wah, wahhh.

    --- Sax / Piasno Instrumental ---

Back in the doo-wah days, we had a ball
Nights on the boardwalk, we had it all
    And time to sift away
    Back in the doo-wah days

    Doo-wah, doo-wah, doo-wah, wahhh.

Back in the doo-wah days, we had a ball
Nights on the boardwalk, we had it all
    And time to sift away
    Back in the doo-wah days.

    Doo-wah, doo-wah, doo-wah, wahhh.
    Back in the doo-wah days.
    Doo-wah, doo-wah, doo-wah, wahhh.
    Back in the doo-wah days...
    again my mistake sorry
