Long shot

My wife had a cd from an American rock band around about 2002 but has lost it and we can’t remember the name of the band or album. The lead singer was a smallish good looking guy with blond hair and a very deep voice for his size. I saw one of there videos once a woman had a mans name tattooed on her arm then had it covered over when he cheated on her.
Sorry it’s so vague but it’s driving me mad!
Any ideas would be great!

I vaguely remember a video, where a girl had this guy's name tattooed on her at first, and then something happened, and she got it replaced by some other guys name? Or...replaced by another word, what matched only the first letters of this guy's name? Or...was it replaced by some symbol (like heart shape in example?)
Oh, it was a pretty popular song in MTV too at some point.
