Question House Season 2 Ep 23 - Piano Music by "Jesse Baker"

Does anyone know who's performing the piano music that House listens to in this ep.? The episode is called "Who's Your Daddy?"

It's supposed to be a jazz/blues pianist called Jesse Baker, but I'm fairly sure that's just a made up name.

House is treating this pianist's grand-daughter, and although we never see the pianist in the episode, we hear the music several times.

It may have been specially composed for the show, but as the show often uses tracks from know artists, I'm hoping I might be able to get hold of it somewhere.

I already have the Season 2 soundtrack, and it's not on that

    Help!!

At one spot in the show, Forman calls her grandfather "Miles Davis". This was right after the group showed up in House's office after the liver biopsy was stopped. Miles Davis was a jazz musican.

The only reason I could think of for this big error in the script, would be to inform the viewer the actual artist of this music.

The problem with this possibility is that Miles Davis played the trumpet. I don't know of any piano work that he did. Coltrane worked with him and was the pianist.

I suggest lots of jazz google.

okay just to clear something up...he didn't call the grandfather miles davis, he was referring to Miles's drug problem which the team was also just talking about i still have no idea who it is actually singing the song though

It's "Tipitina" by Professor Longhair. Sounds like the version on the album "Fess Gumbo."

FYI, I don't know if that's correct, but I just tried to find the tune on youtube and found a version played by Mr. Hugh Laurie himself and it's quite good.
