Please pease please help! I cant find it anywhere!

hi all! i heard this song the other day and i have NO CLUE what the title is or who the artist is. i have searched for it on every website possible and ive gotten nothing.

it is acoustic with a woman singing. the lyrics are along the lines of "you stop the rain/ and you turn the spout/ you took the sun/ and you wrung it out/ so it falls on me/" and then a little later on she sings "i didn't know/ no i didn't have a clue"

please help guys its driving me crazy! it played during the final scene of Newport Harbor "Home For the Holidays"... and i have no idea what it is. MTV doesnt list it as ever appearing in the show.
