PLease Help..its been bugging me for 9 years!

HI ,

If there is anyone out there who might know who sings this song!!

Basically it was played loads on XFM in 1999 when Suede's 'Electricity' was released.

I remember these lyrics:


"Its turning me on your secret fasicination.........don't do me any favours..........The System let you down and I've had all that I can take, so take it like a ma(aaaaaaaaa)n"

It was kind of haunting and could be comparable to editors/interpole style vocals.

They were not a big band then and I certainly hav'nt heard it since that year.

I loved it and its driving me mad,

My friend thought it might be Gene - but I have trawled through everything they've ever done to no avail!!

Pleeeeeaaaase help!

The song is Take It by Ballroom and it's fantasic. The album Day After Day is fantastic too. It reminds me alot of Gene so that was a pretty good guess and if you had to listen to Drawn to the deep end during your quest then your time wasn't all wasted.
