Anyone know this old "graduation" type song?

I heard this song back in the 80's, during a high school assembly and have always wanted to know the artist and song title. The lyrics went something like this:

Who knows if we shall meet again,
if ever.
And time, keeps flowing like a river.
On and on, to the sea,
To the sea.
Till it's gone forever, gone forever, gone forever.


That would be so cool if someone out there could enlighten me!

Seems like it is Alan Parsons Project's song Time. I'm not sure if that is a cover or an original though =)
