Primary School Song still stuck in my head
Hiya, I'm a relatively new member to this site and first of all hats to everyone. I've been trawling aorund and this seems to be the best by far. Another query for all here. I remember singing this song when I was back in primary school but the title evades me and so do the rest of the lyrics. Any help will be greatly appreciated, driving everyone I know mad trying to get them to remember this song.
Here goes:
Long ago and far away
In a town of Galilee (not sure if that's spelled correctly?)
Out of David's family
Came a young man
He was quite a handy man
With a hammer in his hand
Always looking at his *er...*
Til he saw Mary
She was the finest thing
He knew he's ever see
He hoped that she was
As keen as he was
He popped the question
And hoped his suggestion
Would be no objection
To his friend Mary
Such a simple girl I am
Asked to chose a destiny
I've got the rest of my
Life before me
Joseph is a lovely man
But do I want to
Be his wife?
I guess the answers yes"
All I have I'm afraid. I remember singing it in assembly if that helps anyone. I hate that I only have fragments of the song and I really want to teach it to my younger sister. Thanks to anyone who may be able to shed some light.
