Solved: i've been wantin to knw the name since forever!

This has been in my head for a month.. i heard it in a person's car, but i haven't been able to ask them what the name of the song is, or even who the singer is.

at the beginning it goes,


"I'll write you a letter, I'll write you a song. You probably wont notice that im even gone, but i will be strong."

..It's more rock than alternative rock.

Can it be, that you have remembered lyrics differently?
