Solved: 6 hours and nada so far

Help! I've spent 6 hours surfing the web looking for the song that goes with these lyrics heard by daughter who doesn't have the internet to search and so texted me.

Sung by a guy. Song was quite short. I'm guessing on MTV because she said it was on 'Cue'.

She tried Shazaam on her mobile but it came back with Unknown music.

Lyrics heard included the following :-

"Let me tear your heart from mine" and "I'd have done anything, I'd have done anything to just be there, to just be there"
