been stuck on this one for over a year

ok so i heard this song shortly after 9/11 and loved the song but really didn't think about it too much until i went into the military. after i got out i realized what a great song it was and i would love to hear it again the only problem is that i dont know the tile or the artist, and while some of the people at the radio stations around me remember hearing it no one seems to be able to find it or come up with a title. really hoping you all can help me out with this one. btw it is a country song in my opinion although it could be classified as patriotic. the lyrics i remember are as follows

missing some after that but what i believe to be the chorus is as follows to the best of my memory

and as i said the last time i heard this song was back shortly after 9/11 so i do apologize about the lack of lyrics to go off of but heres to hoping that someone will be able to put my mind somewhat at rest

Do you believe it to be one of several country songs written post 9/11 or could it be a much older song which was dusted off for 9/11. John Wayne made several patriotic recordings (WW II) era and this sounds like it could fit into that category. His songs were not really country songs; they were pretty much patriotic background music in the background with him speaking.
