Not much to go on

Ok back sometime between 1996-1998 a friend of mine always played this song that he said reminded him of his sister and it has had me stumped for years now. Something about "sister I'll save you" , the lead singer is male and maybe even sings about having a drink in a bar with his sister . The voice was very much like the lead singer of Seven Mary Three. In fact I was positive it was them but after TONS of research, no luck. I know its not much to go on but any help would be greatly appreciated.
