I have no clue where to start?

Hi,

This is a very strange request and very vague. Every time I listen to the first 36 seconds of U2's "Stuck in a moment you cant get out" of I am reminded of a song that I used to listen to a lot.

I feel as though it is by an artist like third eye blind or the goo goo dolls or some other 90's pop band. Either that or some one like John Mellencamp or Peter Gabriel. Please help Its been driving me crazy.

The opening music of U-2's song reminds me of the song "People Get Ready" by The Impressions (1965). There have been numerous covers by The Chambers Brothers, Al Green, Curtis Mayfield, Eva Cassidy, Bob Marley and even Rod Stewart to name a few. No thats not it. The part that is triggering this memory is the vocals from 14-35 sec & 132-154 secs. I guess this one is more than just a long shot.

It reminds me a little of Phil Collins' "True Colors"...
