Solved: Can you help me? :)

Hey! I'm hoping you can help. There's two songs I would love to know the name of, but I can't figure them out and I've tried google.

The first one is a song that came out in the early 2000s I think, I have no idea what the name is, but it was played quite a lot on the radio. Sadly the lyrics are hardly coherent and I don't remember them very much, but it had an almost Irish influence (but it wasn't Bewitched or anything), and it just lyrics like:
"I'm flying away.."
possibly as "distant land" in it, but we're not sure...
Helpful, right? I can't remember anything else, but I'm so desperate to know what this song is, I uploaded a video to youtube singing the chorus (I remember distinctly how it goes). That should help I think, don't mind my crap singing, and it was a woman singer.

The next one was on a car ad (although I live in Aus so things may be different overseas) and of course I can't remember much about it, but the car was driving on a road with lilac purplish flowers falling on it. It sounded like it was in a waltz - 3/4 and it went something like,
"You (did something??) and I learnt how to dance"
It was a woman singer, it was almost melancholy, very simple instrumentation, slight jazz influence. I could also hum the chorus but let's not go there for now.


I would really appreciate anyone's help!! It really is irritating not knowing these songs - especially the first one, which I have been trying to find for years and years. Thanks in advance!
