    The first song that comes to mind is the "Please, Please Me" by The Beatles (1964?)
    but you're probably thinking of "Way Over There" by The Marvelettes

    Also try the following songs:
    "Lonely Teardrops" by John Fogerty
    "How Funky Is Your Chicken" by Jackson 5
    Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

    thank you atmaster, but it's none of the songs you mentioned... (i tried googeling and youtubing the chorus)

    as far as i remember it was on the same collection c.d featuring 70's classic ballads such as "donna donna", "rain" by Jose Feliciano, "time in a bottle", "if" by bread and such... so i think it's from that era...

    it's a man vocal, with woman vocals on the background.

    and if anyone by any chance happens to know what's the c.d collection is called, i'll be delighted to know.
