Solved: Mid to late '90s R&B song

I saw this song on MTV about 10 to maybe 12 years ago... R&B song.

Only things I remember:

- Solo act (one male singing)
- Depressing song
- He was in a bathtub for whatever reasons in a few scenes
- Took place in a deserted house or something? (Maybe not)
- Low lighting throughout (Maybe not)

Erm, no, and it kills me that I don't remember. Something about crying? I think I remember "When can I see you again" but that's a Babyface song.

I want to say the artist was Richie Rich but that's not remotely correct
Maybe The Richie Rich Project (also incorrect)... sounds close though
