Solved: "i wasnt fully aware" song

So im stuck at work, and can't remember for the life of me, the name of the track and emcee i heard way back on a mix tape.... the chorus and a few lyrics are all that stuck in my head... the track is maybe early 2000-2002. The emcee had a slightly nasal voice, and the beat was dark, grimy and atmospheric... It's a story told in the first person of the emcee, witnessing a shootout, and gets gunned down and killed for witnessing it...

It went something like this:

(and thats about all I can recall... remember, this is an old old track... just hoping someone out there can put a finger on it.)

after much harassing friends/google searching.. i found the name and artist.

The song is called "Awareness" (duh....)
by the Jigmastas.
