My request:

So I overheard this song playing at a Burger King restaurant. I remember the refrain going like (I might have misheard it)

"[...] it's so hard to hope to die tonight" [one or two more lines] "... hit it back, alright"

It's an upbeat standard pop song, pretty much what would be released as a typical summer song.

It's performed by a female singer.

It is *not* "Tell Me Everything" by Just Surrender or Second Chance.

Does this ring a bell with anyone? I hope someone can help me finding out artist and title.

Found it. The correct lyrics are "Cross your heart and hope to die tonight ... paint it black or white."

The song was freshly released and is called "Cross Your Heart", by Mayor's Destiny.
