Default Info on two old Italian songs pre 1957

    Hi
I would like to know if the lyrics below are from a song called Evanno or E Vanno
If someone could confirm this and let us know who actually wrote it and who originally sang it I would appreciate it - Also if any one could provide all the lyrics to the song that would be great

    Straspira il mare

    Mentre va nell’estremo oriente

    Uomini donne vecchi e bambini

    Evanno tanto lontano vanno

Cosa farano ci tornerano messun lo sa

The second song I have a query on is called Terra Straniera
Could someone tell me who actually wrote the song and who originally sang it

    The lyrics are

    Terra straniera ... Quanta malinconia
quando ci salutammo, non so perché.
Tu mi gettasti un bacio e fuggisti via:
    eppure adesso, te lo confesso,
    non penso a te ...

Non li ricordo più quegli occhi belli
pieni di luce calda ed infinita...
Mi son dimenticato i tuoi capelli

    Terra straniera... Quanto t'ho accarezzata,
    dolce chimera della mia gioventù!

    Penso com'eri bella ... come t'ho amata ...
Ma tutto è vano: così lontano non vivo più.
Mamma ... io morirò di nostalgia
se non rivedo te ... e l'Italia mia!

    Thanks

    Pkh

"Terra Straniera" is a traditional song, so the "original" artist or author are probably lost in time.
Connie Francis recorded her version in 1967.

Per the following link, Robertino recorded a version on his "Italia Mia" album (year = ?).

"Terra straniera" is also the name of a 1953 movie.

Several sources credit the writing team of A. Natili and N. Godini as the authors of a song called "E Vanno" and recorded by Luciano Tajoli (in 1942?).

The following link will let you listen to a 30-second sample of the song:
