I just heard two soul songs on the quiet storm that maybe someone on this board knows... I don't catch too many lyrics because i was kind of busy while they were playing

the first song sounded like stephanie mills, but a lighter more crisp sound. a few words i caught were:
You're a tough act to follow...
lay in your arms again

the second song was a male, possibly a group and the chorus went something like:
Stay with me
Be my love (or lover... can't really remember)

Any ideas would be helpful
