1960s: Little Boy Sitting by the River?

This song is from the early 60s, I think. I do not remember any of the verses but the chorus went:

See that little boy sitting by the river
if only I could be like him.
I'd close my eyes and let the mad world go by
if only I could be like him.

Please help me identify it. I have not been able to find a clue on the web. Artist and full lyrics would be appreciated.
