help ID midi songs!

Hey there! These song as well as several others were in the virtual chat room called Active Worlds as standard songs. They ranged stheme1-stheme11 with some variations such as stheme5a. I haven't had any luck finding answers through Active Worlds themselves since this was many moons ago (about 10 years) and they have new people and probably not these songs anymore. My friend and I are convinced that these are REAL songs that were converted to midi files, not just a midi song someone made up. I have put a few of them on a web directory (link below). They sound really familiar but I have been listening to them for 10 years! If you can find a title or artist or lyrics for any of these or at least let me know they sound familiar to you too it would be greatly appreciated!!!

Wellll , you see ..a couple of the songs do sound more or less familiar , but only for a few bars.
It's as if the composer(s) used parts of well known songs , and sort of weaved new songs around them. ( if you catch my drift)
But very cleverly done , for it is (to me) impossible to name the original , but the feeling "I've heard this before '' lingers on...

I may be totally off track , but that's the impression I got.
Maybe one of these days somebody will prove me wrong..

Yeah that's the general feeling I get too. But there were 11 of these songs and SOMEBODY had to write them all so someone out there might know the artist. Ah well, I'll keep looking!
