I heard this song in my friend's car and I REALLY want to know who sings it so i can get it.

Yeah, it probably is "Flake" by Jack Johnson. I think what you got messed up with is that it's "no one likes to be let down" then the beginning of the next chorus states, "I know she loves the sunrise" not sunshine. but here are the lyrics, see if it rings a bell.
