Trying to find out what the title to this old country song sang by a woman

The only thing I can remember is this:

It is sang by a woman, and it is an older song. There is a lyric in the song that is something like this......

"I took so many winding roads, so even if I wanted I could not find my way back"

It's a love song and she has left her man and is reminising on the lost love and so on.

This song is one of my all time favs and I cannot seem to remember any other lyrics to the song or the title or anything else about it.
