*SOLVED* Indie song

A few years ago (around the time "Meteora" by Linkin Park was released), my friend was playing some music on his computer, and this song came up.

For the life of me, I can't remember the name of the song, or the band.
All I remember is the first part of the first verse, and the chorus.

The First verse went kind of like this:

"When did you see this coming?
If I ask, have I made it true?

If it relates to the obvious,
Have I passed your credit check?"

With the chorus something like this:

"How many hours should we
Cover in first tense..."

I know _somebody_ out there has to know this.
