Question The way you make me ..

I just came back from Africa (Sierra Leone), and on the radio (I think it was BBC World Radio) they very often played a beautiful song. The artists are a woman and a man, and some of the lyrics are these :

The way you make me .. *ah ah*
It's the dance of love ..
Ooh you bring me joy ..

It's like a romantic lovesong.
Please help me find it, I googled the lyrics but can't find the right artists!

Nobody knows? At the moment it's a very popular song (on the BBC Radio in Sierra Leone anyway).. They played it more than once a day.

I think it would be (a little bit) easier to recognize if you could tell us whether it was a man, a woman, a group, etc. that was singing that song And is there any more information about the song that you can remember?

And if it was so frequently aired on BBC World radio, have you tried to find a website of them, on which they show what song is played around the time you were in SL? And have you searched for the charts of the UK and/ of SL? Perhaps that might help?

It may take some time, but sooner or later people might know what song it is that you mean Just hold on.

Other info that might help the search of this song: when were you in SL? And if it was aired so much there, then it might (have been) be a hit in SL and/ or the UK at that moment. Trying to search for the charts of both countries might be handy! And of course other info (see above) would be helpful to

Robster1983, thank you very much for the useful tips!

I've mentioned about the artists:

, they sing it together, it's beautiful .

I was in SL from august 30 till september 16 this year, so it was a hit around that time.

I'll start looking for the charts and playlists. You are so smart! Thanks .

If I found them I'll leave a message here, so until then all help is still very welcome!

Silly me, indeed you already said it was sung by a man and a woman :-s

Another question (might sound strange): was it sung in British English, American English, African English (in particular Sierra Leone English; isn't that called Krio?), etc???

Allright, my internet is a little bit dead (well, some machine that makes me get the internet is, whether it is the rauter, the modem, whatever, something is ), so I'm more offline than online (trust me, that's hard for me ), but I found something about the Refugee All Stars. They are a band/ group from Sierra Leone, and are big there. Perhaps it is something. If possible I'll search further! For now I'll give you the link which I found: http://cdbaby.com/cd/refugeeallstars2
Their own website is http://sierraleonesrefugeeallstars.com/

Perhaps it will help (something). I'm from the Netherlands, so my knowledge is limited to the (Western) European charts, with, of couse, the Dutch chart in particular. So I would also like to call upon the knowledge of others. If others might know anything about the charts of BBC World, and/or Sierra Leone, then by all means: leave a post here!

Bedankt Robster . I noticed you're from the Netherlands, I'm also 'specialized' in Dutch charts (though more the Belgian ones ).

The song is definitely not in Krio, also not in English with an African accent but it's rather British English I think. So I think it's not a Sierra Leonan group, though I'm not 100% sure. It's very strange that I can't find it anywhere in the playlists and charts of the BBC website. Maybe it was coincidence that they played it a lot, and it's not recent a hit..? But still.. if they play it so often on the radio in Sierra Leone, it must be a popular song in other countries too..? Thanks for the website from the Refugee All Stars, I know the band but it doesn't seem to be this one I'm looking for...

I've contacted some Sierra Leonean people, I hope they can help!

Oh wat leuk, een Vlaming (Gent rulezzzz!!!!) (trans. how nice, a Flamish person)

I will go on in English (makes it a bit more understandable for others ), so here goes:

I tried to search also, but untill now no such luck in finding the song. My internet is still a little bit dead (must revive it one of these days, but on the other hand it's kind of liberating living with very little internet), so I can't search everyday, everytime
Nevertheless: this 'song-search' is not forgotten (at least, not with me). Hope that you will have more luck in finding something!

And, of course: people, if you have an idea of which song this could be, then do not hesitate to leave a comment!!

Gent rulezzz uiteraard - omdat ik daar woon . Fijn dat we die mening delen . And ofcourse: How nice, a person from the Netherlands! Het land met gekleurde hagelslag!! (die bij ons nergens wordt verkocht :'(.)

Thank you for being here for me Robster .. Cause it seems like you're the only one trying to help me with this song...

It's so weird that I can't find it! Maybe I've got the lyrics wrong.. though I can hear the refrain in my head over and over again. Help ..?

And if you get bored, I'm also looking for another song : http://www.allthelyrics.com/forum/id...ta-habibi.html . That one is even harder to find! Maybe I should award the person that can help me find one of these two songs?

Serieus??? Je woont in Gent? Hahahaha, ik moet staatsloten gaan kopen, ik gok net ff té vaak goed ;-)
Anyhow, been to Ghent this May, and I loved it!! Ghent has it all! To be honest, chances were that you're from Antwerp, and not to be disrespectful to that city, but A'pen just couldn't get to me like Ghent did. Everything is right there: beautiful people, friendly people, more culture than you could observe, a more than nice atmosphere, and (of course) there is a 'beer-cafe' (that's the nickname it has with me and a friend of mine, for we don't know the real name anymore :s) that serves any type of beer (strawberry, banana, coconut, 'kwakske' (my absolute favourite!!!!), well, what type of beer wasn't there?)... Yes, Ghent rulezzz!! In my opinion the real capital of the Flamish community (for Antwerp isn't all that, and Bruges is too strange!). Ja, over Brugge: very beautiful, but the people there look like they have to 'tolerate' the tourists :s Me and that same friend were in dire need of a mac (or something like that), since whe weren't about to pay €10,- for a plain simple 'tosti/ croque-monsieur' in the almost Efteling-look-a-like historic city centre, and blunt as I am I said that I would ask the next person that would pass us by where I could find a mac (for we had seem to be lost in that same Efteling-setting ). So I did, and that person, a lovely lady of around 50 years old, looked at me like I asked her how her sexlife was! :s And, believe it or not, but I was very extremely polite! Strange people in Bruges :s So yes, Ghent within a heartbeat! :Y

And hahaha, I take the 'gekleurde hagelslag' (sorry guys, I don't even know how to translate this, it's a typical Dutch breadspread) for granted too much, for I don't even eat it But Ghent is not that far from the Dutch border, isn't it? So every ones and a while you could go to Zeeland, and buy as much as you can. I do know that the best is from 'de Ruyter' ;-)

Good, back to the subject: I'll look further for songs that could be it. But I think that African songs are discussed very rarely here :s Most people here music from their 'holiday-spots', and most of the times that's a cheaper than cheap holiday to Spain, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, etc. :s It's like the 'zomerhit' in the Netherlands and Belgium, every know and again a strange song, sung in a for us unknown language, is a hit here. That song is, most of the times, brought to us by the same people form the cheaper than cheap holidays :-)

But here's to trying, so I'll keep searching!

About your Arabic song: I'll send you a private message with some tips about how to search and a link to a page where you can find many Arabic artists (thats how I let my Arabic list grow from a few songs from friends, to more than 230 songs ).

I have some more information about the song 'The way you make me..' that I'm looking for. It might be a song from a movie called 'Passion and soul', but as it is a movie from Ghana it's very difficult to find any information about it. I still don't know the artist or the title of the song...

Hey, at this moment it is hard for me to serach, since I am (on the verge of) going on holiday (and I still need to pack :s) But when I come back I'll try again (so great of you that you found some new info! ). Hope that it will (a little bit) be easier to find that song!

Btw, couldn't it be this film? http://premiumvideos.onlinenigeria.c...asp?blurb=2754 It's called "Passion Of The Soul" (slightly different from the title you gave). But this film is from Nollywood (films made in Nigeria), and I think it isn't that strange that films made there are also shown in neighbouring countries, just like Bollywood films are also shown/ popular in the neighbouring countries.

Anyhow, the google-search is http://www.google.nl/search?hl=nl&q=...z oeken&meta=

Hope it will bring you a little bit further. I'll try again after my holiday!

Byebye
