I am trying to find 2 songs (or the artist) from late 80's/early 90's.

I think the song should fit within the category Swingbeat or R&B. Both songs could be by the same artist. I remember listen to these songs around the time when Basic Black had their big hit: "Whatever it takes" and Tevin Campbell sang "Ask me to".
