Default Solved: soft rock piano song by a female artist

I remember hearing this song on Sirius's Coffee House as well as a movie preview...I think. The song is soft and her voice is a mid-alto. It's about a year, MAYBE two, old. I strongly recall it from the summer of '07. The singer has that husky, soft dragging sound. The song has a slow tempo, and is mainly piano, I think I recall some soft drumming.

If it helps, you can make out to it. :-D haha.

I really wish I could provide more info.

Thank you to the person that actually takes on this daunting task >.<.

And even more if you can help me figure this out!

it might be a fine frenzy, and if not, you'd probably like her too

The style is spot on, and the voice is the same feeling, but the tracks I see available by her don't fit the tune I'm looking for.

I think I figured out of the base notes of the song.
Dunno if the notes are going to help much, but I think I have the timing right. 3 notes per measure, 1st is half, next 2 are quarter. A, B, C then G E F, in standard on my guitar :P Grasping at straws with strong hope they hold like steel cabling.

Oh...the girl breathily sings with the base run and the piano always uses a dual keystroke note change but adds accents toward the end of the measure.

Hope this helps more. :-/ Thanks again for your assists.

I am not familiar with Fine Frenzy.
Do the vocals remind you of Carol King, Carly Simon or Norah Jones?
Them that can, do; them that can't... memorize Artist and Title

Closest I could argue, most similar to Norah Jones.

    hrms.

If I could map out the singing pattern is might help?

    A (held full measure)
Laah (note is held half of it)
    (16) (16) (8)
    B C G (G held rest of measure
    Lah, lah, lah
    (4) (4)
    E F (F held rest of measure)
    Laah, lah

If this is gibberish and isn't helping much, I do apologize, but unfortunately I can't remember anything but the melody, sound of her voice, and mood of the song. It's very soft, with a "down" feeling. I think it might have even been a sad song. It was very downbeat. And I swear it was from a new-comer artist from either 2007 or as early as 2006. She could have been from the UK. That's all I have for now.

Again, thank you all for the help :-)

Happened to find this forum while searching for the same song (I thought it seemed like the same song going by your descriptions, then when I played the notes you listed, I knew it was!) and I'm on the case too. I heard it at the end of some random show over here in Ireland and have been asking everyone since. Getting closer!

It's 'Breathe Me' by Sia. The album is called Colour The Small One.

At least, this is the song that I was looking for, which I think was the same as you.

Thank you guys for keeping this post in mind and being able to figure out just what tune it was! :P Glad the notes were semi-spot on :-).

Thank you so much. It's been awhile since I posted this issue haha. WoW...just...thanks, and wow.

Exactly what I thought when I finally found it and heard it properly - "Wow!" Now if I could just tear myself away from the 'repeat' button...
