I was listening to the radio past 2am the other night and heard these lyrics

"Mississippi in a dry spell"
"Up in Memphis, the music's like a heat wave"

There were other words in between these, that I can't remember now.

It was a beautiful song and I've been unable to find any trace of it on the web.

No, I found and listened to that one in my search.

Though I think the one I'm looking for has been influence by that song

I forgot to mention it's sung by a man with a smooth slow voice.
And I think he was backed by guitar and maybe some sax, but I'm not sure of the last
