This is driving me nutz

I'm trying to identify a song name and artist - maybe 70's or 80's and all I have is the verse (some of the words could be wrong).....

I've googled "wind and rain" and most of the other lyrics I can remember and it doesn't bring up the right song. Artist is sort of Cat Stevens-ish.

Any help appreciated.
