Default the kind of people who don't even care

I've been trying to identify the song from which these lines are taken:

"life's too short for words that hurt, if that is all it's worth, I'm not getting up in the morning for anyone (and/or: I'm not gonna care what anyone thinks of me), life's too short for to throw away, on the kind of people who don't even care"..............

at least, something like that anyway.

This music was probably early 70's pop, the lines were sung mildly staccato by either a light male voice or a female lead singer.

I have searched all the popular lyric sites to no avail, can anyone shed any light?

I found the single in my storage boxes over the weekend, it's called Life's Too Short, by Rescue Co.No.1 on the RAK label, i bought the single when it came out in 1971. not alot about the band on the net, so if you find out anything interesting let me know.
