I hear this song in the grocery store all the time, but I will describe to you what it sounds like:
-1980's or early 1990's
-Male lead singer
-Pop, somewhat country
-Slow to mid-paced
-A harmonica can be heard incidentally later on in the song, especially at the ending/fading part of the song (ex. That’s What Friends Are For).
Unfortunately, I have relatively little information about the lyrics. I have written below, however, what I was able to come up with (each set of lyrics that sound alike) that can be heard during the chorus:
-“Shelter of this world”, “shelter of the world”, “shelter in this world”, “shelter in the world”, and he sings it well so it can be heard.
-It also sounded like “join in this world” or “join with the world”
-After he says that, he says something about a “mountain”—like “mountain top” or something.
The lead vocalist sounds like Willie Nelson, similarly.
Also, I have asked online about this song, and the responses I have received were Bob Dylan, Radiohead, Billy Joel, G. Love and Special Sauce, John Popper, Clint Black, and Garth Brooks; I checked out all of these artists, but their songs did not match up to the one I am looking for.
So if you have any ideas about the song I am trying to find, I would greatly appreciate it if you could help out!
Thanks a lot!
Jeff
