Default SOLVED: Please help me find this song!

Hi all, this is my first post here so please be kind

First a small story about the song I seek:
My parents and I used to go to Austria on vacation, and in all those years when I was sitting in the rear seat of the car, they would play this tape with loads of "older" songs on it.

Now that I am a fullgrown man, I recovered the cassette tape that we used to play on our holidays and I am now trying to find all the songs that are on it.
Most of them I have been able to find using either Shazam, Tutanic or screaming longues out at midomi

None of these have been able to identify this song I'm looking for

    I do know the lyrics...
It sounds like it's a duet between a soul like female vocalist and a male...

Anyway, the lyrics go something like this: (it's just parts of it)

    ==================================================

Every part of me, is a part of you...
    It's true...
And I can't let go, just can't let go...
    Oh you make it beautiful...

I'm not afraid to talk this way, I'm not afraid to say...
    You, you make it beautiful...
Waited so long, all of my life...
    Just for tonight...

I'm not ashamed to talk this way...
    I'm not ashamed to say...

    ==================================================

Pffft I hope you guys can help me here.
I put up a bad quality soundfile derived from the cassette tape using my dekstop mic:

Anyway, thank you for reading and thank you kindly in advance for your help!

Is there some reason you haven't included the year you listened to this tape for the first time. It can make a big difference in trying to find it.

Don't be embarrased about your age ....LOL

hahaha, I suspect the song to be from start to mid 70's

Mind you though, it might even be older than this, the tape is said to be originated fro a "greatest hits" record collection...

The holder of this collection passed on many years ago though, so I cannot ask him about it

Excellent...love the 70's and that sure sounds like the Hollies to me, which would fit the timeline. I'm not familiar with the song, But I'm 100% sure that it wasn't a Top 40 hit in the U.S.

    Working..............

I should add that I am from Holland, so it might be right that it was never a top 40 hit

I eagerly await the fruits of your labour and I will forever be thankfull if you can find it for me it's nostalgia! \o/

Can you name the other songs on the recording (Tape) . It might be helpful if they're all from the same greatest hits album..

My wild guess is "Just for Tonight" by Franne Golde from her 1976 album, "Frannie Golde".
However, I cannot find any lyrics or samples to verify it.

"You Made Me Beautiful" by Vicky Leandros, from her 1981 album "Love Is Alive".

    If this is love
I've never been in love like this before
No one ever touched me as deeply as you
    And here you are
Beside me in the darkness of the night
    ...

    You made me beautiful
I'm not ashamed to talk this way
    I'm not ashamed to say
    You made me beautiful
    Waiting so long
    All of my life
    Just for tonight

Default Re song: You Made Me Beautiful

Don't know whether you've found it since your last post. The version I know is by a man and my best guess is Tyrone Davis from his 1981 (Columbia) album "Everything In Place", Track# 7 "You Made Me Beautiful".

Yes, this is the song, however not the version I am still looking for

My version has a male and a female singer in it, making it a duet!

Any further help would still be immensely appreciated!

And to you Rameses, you are a hero kind sir, thank you very much!

Just in case the youtube posting becomes unavailable, the answer was "You Make It Beautiful" by Cheryl Ladd and Frankie Valli
