Song from Malcom Bradbury's The History Man, BBC4

Going crazy trying to id the song played at the party scene right at the very end of this BBC series, recently repeated on BBC4. It sounds spookily like Super Furry Animals, but as the series was made in 1980 (as is set in 1972) that's not possible!!

If anyone is familiar with The History Man it's the slow song that accompanies the "shock" ending, and contains a repeated lyric which sounds something like "I don't want to play the game".

Not much to go on, I know, but I'm hoping someone can put me out of my misery.

Cheers, but it's not Queen. It's a bit more obscure!

By a combination of luck and educated guesswork I managed to work out this is Bellbottom Blues, from the Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs album.
