OK, this may be impossible since I remember very little of this song but I NEED to hear it again, so here goes.
The track used long, dark synth tones for the bass line and I seem to recall that it was rhythmically fairly simple and fairly danceable (nearly useless description, I know). The key thing (which may be totally wrong) is that I remember the lyrical hook line being something like "Wake your baby, shake your baby" or "Wake up baby, shake up baby" followed by a pretty brief percussive break and then dropping back into the base synth line. This is all I remember of any type of lyric from the track and whatever the line actually is, I at least remember that to be the exact number of syllables in the line, so it would have to fit what I've noted.
I can still hear a bit of the song in my head and it's been driving me nuts for years. They used to play it on virtually ever industrial show night at The Edge in Palo Alto, CA. (which has long since closed its doors). Maybe it was an obscure vinyl or a well know (but not to me) track at the time. Any suggestions or questions would be awesome! TYVM
EDIT: A massive THANKS goes to user 'smanson' for informing me that this track is "Hallucination Generation" by The Gruesome Twosome. I can now R.I.P.![]()
