New Year's song challenge about a hammer

Hi,

During discussions at a New Year's BBQ last night I was reminded of a song that used to play on the Australian radio station Triple J around 1994 but did not make it into the Hottest 100. I have very little to go by. It was a bit poppy, a girl sang it and one of the versuses was about a hammer and her having a hammer. Can't find any info anywhere. If anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful.
