searching for the artist to these lyrics..

driving me nuts, as soon as someone says who it is, I'll kick myself, lyrics go something like this:

"can't believe the things I've seen
far beyond my wildest dreams
seen (something, something), violence and (something)"

Then the middle section goes:

"Oh life, your heart is warring with your brain
'Tween (somethin - could be the word destiny),and reason, it is driving you insane"

Anyone help me identify who this is and the song? thanks
