Solved: Dreamy, sad "alcohol" song from mid 90's...

The song is a somber/sullen, very melodic tune about alcohol (the chorus is something like "alcohooool, oh, alcohol"). Circa '96. Been searching for years...can't believe it's been this long. Any ideas? Tks.

No dice... thanks because it was an awesome try. It's a different song though. The one that I (and the original questioner) were referring to is more of a 90's rock song. Gloomy. Sung by a man. "alcohoool...oh ohhhhh"...the notes go up when he says "alcohoool" & go down when he says "oh ohhhh". Like he's had a bad experience. Minor Key.

) if you did not pull it of mp3.com a long time ago. The song has shimmering guitars, many effects on it, sad vocals and is the ideal song to lie around, 3AM and you´re drunk, trying to croak the words "loneliness and alcohol" with Greg, the singer.

Hi there,

I've been trying to remember a song about alcohol for years. I think it's the same song you are trying to remember. I though the lyrics might have gone "Alcohol ....., my alcohol." It is an up tempo pop song, from the 1990s I think, with a dark feel to it. I remember it had this cool bass guitar rif following the singer singing "alcohol." Maybe it was sort of a one hit wonder type of band. For some reason I thought Jeff Buckley sang it, but I think I'm wrong about that. If you ever find this song I'd really appreciate it if you post the song/artist here. This is like an itch deep in my brain that I cannot scratch!

will do. People keep trying but they aren't going dreary enough i think. Jeff Buckley is a great guess... it's definitely got his sound. Similar singing qualities. You've actually gotten closest to the sound. I think you're probably looking for the same thing, my friend! You find it before me... holla!

Yeah too upbeat. This is punk where the other is more 90's rock sounding. Someone guessed Jeff Buckley...that was closer in the sound. Thank you though, for sure.

Just wanted to Thank you all 4 your hard work. I've been searching all over for this song too. My ex used to play it but I never knew what it was and years after we broke up it popped into my head. Been driving me crazy. "Now I can die in peace" and not have to call my ex.
