Help!! Please

For a friend who is ill, i'm trying to find the title and artist of a song it's a 1997? (he thinks) song sung by a male and is about a little boy whose mum knits him a new hat everyone else loves it except him because he wanted his hat to have a point on it? this isnt a joke!! My friend really wants to find this song he heard it on the radio but dosent know who its by or the title if anyone can help i'd be so gratefull thanks
