Default SOLVED: "Lay Me Down" - '80s song

Help! I've found an old c***ette I made of songs off the radio. I've managed to stump iTunes and Google with this one: It's a male vocalist, fairly straightforward late '80s (probably 1989) rock song with the refrain:

"Lay me down in the bullrushes
Send me down, down to the sea
Float me off this raging river
    Leave me just my memory"

Any idea who this is? It came off an adult contemporary/middle-of-the-road type station, so it's probably not, despite what you might think from the lyrics, some obscure christian rock band.

I thougt you might have a challenge for me...this one was easy...

Artist is Dreams So Real -- "BEARING WITNESS"
From the album "Rough Night In Jericho"

And so it comes to an end
And everything that you thought turns out to be
    Feathers borne on the wind
Bearing witness that gravity will win
And take you for a spin

    They're bearing witness to
The water bleaches it out of you
    The cleansing showers fall
    They're falling, falling

Lay me down in the bulrushes
Send me down, down to the sea
Float me on this raging river
    Leave me just my memory

    Now I start to see
    Just as it's ending
    The river is bending
    And drowning me

The snow that falls in December
Could be the rain in the Gulf of Mexico
    And though I know I'm a sinner
I'm still an angel when I get back to home
Where I can do no wrong

    They're bearing witness to
The water bleaches it out of you
    The cleansing showers fall
    They're falling, falling

Lay me down in the bulrushes
Send me down, down to the sea
Float me on this raging river
    Leave me just my memory

    Now I start to see
    Just as it's ending
    The river is bending
    And drowning me
    Drowning me

Lay me down in the bulrushes
Send me down, down to the sea
Float me on this raging river
    Leave me just my memory

    Lay me down

Thanks for confirming that this song is by DSR. I've been searching for confirmation for years, and now I can search for the CD with confidence.

"Bearing Witness" was the only song I'd ever heard by them. Based on GypsyWitch's identification above, I searched for it on Froogle, and found a copy for sale on half.com for about $14. Let me say, it was worth every penny. This is an awesome album, and it's a shame this band didn't apparently go anywhere. I don't think the CD left my car player for a couple of weeks, and most of the songs have gone into heavy iPod rotation. Do yourself a favor and (a) get a copy of the album, and (b) lobby your Congressman to force these guys out of retirement and go back to making great music
